Parent Responsibility

We know that the following list of responsibilities will create successful students, proud families and improved schools:

  • Make sure your child is at school promptly every day.
  • Make sure your child is read to at home every day.
  • Send your child to school with a backpack daily; look through your child’s backpack at night for school-to-home communication.
  • Read and understand the Code of Conduct and share the applicable information with your child.
  • Keep a current address and phone number on file with the school.
  • In case of emergency, have an alternate plan for dismissal procedure and communicate that plan with your child’s teacher.
  • Attend and participate in school sponsored events regularly.
  • Be an actively involved parent with your child and know your child’s teachers.
  • Be a good listener.
  • Make your child’s education a priority—follow through on the Parent Compact, attend parent teacher conferences, secure and use a public library card for your child, make learning an expectation for your family.
