We know that the following list of responsibilities will create successful students, proud families and improved schools:
- Make sure your child is at school promptly every day.
- Make sure your child is read to at home every day.
- Send your child to school with a backpack daily; look through your child’s backpack at night for school-to-home communication.
- Read and understand the Code of Conduct and share the applicable information with your child.
- Keep a current address and phone number on file with the school.
- In case of emergency, have an alternate plan for dismissal procedure and communicate that plan with your child’s teacher.
- Attend and participate in school sponsored events regularly.
- Be an actively involved parent with your child and know your child’s teachers.
- Be a good listener.
- Make your child’s education a priority—follow through on the Parent Compact, attend parent teacher conferences, secure and use a public library card for your child, make learning an expectation for your family.
